Super bloodhound photo of Sebastian, taken and used by the Colorado Springs Gazette Newspaper for their Best of the Beat Feature Story.  Then we used it to announce his retirement.

Everyone loves seeing Bloodhound Photos, Bloodhound Pictures and Bloodhound Videos, so we have a nice Bloodhound Photo Gallery; plus we have Bloodhound News, Bloodhound Articles and other Bloodhound Stories.  We also some Bloodhound Events, Bloodhound Links, Dog Show Events and Dog Links.

2020 - Covid & Covid Protocols
Our ranch is remote, so social distancing is rather a normal for us.  We are taking good health measures, hygiene, etc. and are happy that nobody in our family has been impacted (except some being furloughed for work).  We pray all our family, friends and community stay safe and that everyone's lives get back to normal soon!

Feb 2020 Colorado HB 20-1084 fails 
The bill was called the Humane Pet Care Act was to bad the sale of pets from pet stores as well as establish care standards.  Most all dog clubs, dog breeders and people in agriculture opposed the bill.  Colorado already has PACFA, the Pet Animal  Care Facilities Act, so this bill was NOT needed!
 
 
Feb 2020 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show - NY
The poodle wins Best In Show.  Marlene attends to volunteer/work for the Purebred Dog Fancy and to support Colorado Juniors.  Only 5 Bloodhounds shown, all very different, Piper takes Breed.


2019 OFA Good Bloodhound Hips decline to 39%
2019 Some Highs & Heartbreaking Lows
Sassy passed at 13 and broke our hearts
Trinity became a champion at only 1 year old

Your Dog = Your Choice...

Consider this...


 

Buying a Purebred Dog from a reputable breeder is not a bad decision.  You are allowed to get the puppy or dog you/your family want.  A purebred will give you the most predictable dog, you will know about the dogs family health & history and you will get long term support from a responsible breeder.


Adopting/Buying a Dog, is also buying, but it will not stop irresponsible breeders.  The fact is in many ways it keeps the cycle of "retail rescue" (making money from supposedly rescuing dogs by buying dogs and puppies from very horrid producers).  If adoption is your goal - a breed rescue is the best!

New - v- Used Car Example - Many people indeed buy used cars, but they do so to save money on a limited budget.  They don't buy a used car thinking new cars or car companies are bad.  It is purely an economic thing, and generally when people can afford and want a specific car, they buy new car.


Drugs/Prescriptions Comparison - Most want to get medications directly from a Doctor/Pharmacy rather than buy them cheaper, from the streets, not knowing their source.  Buying drugs outside the system, you indirectly support illegal drugs.  (Same is true for buying a Gun...  And yes, adopting dogs, can often support the ugliest type of dog breeding)


We think Bloodhounds are Wonderful Family Pets and they  Enjoy doing  Therapy Work and Public Education, can be Successful  Show Dogs and are Amazing Working K9's!
